Costal road, La Costanera. Leave Juan Santamaria International Airport near Alajuela and drive west to
Orotina, Jaco and Quepos. Drive south from Quepos (Manuel Antonio National Park) to Dominical then
along the coastal road, La Costanera to Ojochal. This route takes about 4 hrs as it is now paved all the
way!
Moutain pass, Cerro de La Muerte. From San Jose take the Pan American Highway South towards
Cartago, following the signs to San Isidro and to Dominical. Turn left onto the costal road, La Costanera,
and continue on to Ojochal. This route takes about 5 to 6 hours.
By Shared Shuttle Service
A number of companies, such as Easyride (www.easyridecr.com) or CocoTree Travels
(www.cocotreetravels.com) , offer a daily shared shuttle service from San Jose to Ojochal; collecting
you from your hotel in the morning and delivering you to El Perezoso. Price for the shared shuttle is
approx. $50 to $60. Most of these services do have a minimum passenger requirement
Private Shuttle/Taxi
Private shuttles and taxis cost approx. $150 to $250 depending on the capacity and the company.
